"I am retired British Army Major, professional battlefield guide and member of the Guild of Battlefield Guides. As a Guild member I endeavour to maintain the high levels of good practice and standard of service commensurate with the Guild's ethos.

It is my aim to provide you with a battlefield tour that is a truly unique experience and will leave you with memories that last forever.

Battlefield tours are my passion, they are what I love to do and I feel extremely privileged to be able to take people to the battlefields of Northwest Europe "following in the footsteps" of an ancestor or relative on a genealogy tour, retracing the steps of a military unit or formation on a bespoke tour, or guiding them around some of the most important historical sites that have shaped the world in which we live on a personalised tour."

Ian have led tours for nearly ten years and visited the battlefields at: Ypres - Waterloo - the D-Day Beaches of Normandy - Passchendaele - the Somme - US Airborne sites of Operation Market Garden and the British Airborne at Arnhem - US Airborne and British Airborne sites of Normandy - Vimy Ridge - Messines Ridge - Agincout - Cambrai ... and many more. Let Ian take you on a journey of discovery where his experience and expertise will being the battlefield to life and give you an impression of what the officers and men who fought there endured.

John Prosser

John Prosser at the Welsh Memorial Mametz Wood, the Somme, France.

"I have been interested in military history for as long as I can remember and have always had a passion to visit sites of historical value. My main personal interest is the 1914-18 Great War, in which both my grandfathers fought, and it is my I belief that by visiting these places they, and the men who fought there, will never be forgotten."

John has served in the Territorial Army for thirty years and has guided on a variety of tours for Officers and NCOs. He was fortunate enough to be able to take early retirement and has since pursued his lifelong ambition to research some of the history of these battlefields. He has been able to visit many of the major battlefield sites in Western Europe and has led battlefield tours to the Somme on many occasions as well as visiting the D-Day beaches, Waterloo, Agincourt, Crécy, Arnhem and Ypres.

John's military background and passion for military history enables him to bring the battlefield to life by looking at it in both a historical and practical context. This valuable experience is now available to you.

Dedication

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
